I've been looking at this jacket since october but never knew if i really wanted it, then i understood i did but once it went on sale i couldnt find it anywhere, but here it is, now, i found it todayy and its minee.

Jane Avril (1868-1943) était une Française, danseuse de cancan, rendu célèbre par Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec à travers ses peintures, principalement au cours de la vie nocturne et le show-business qu'il aimait exposer avec des danseuses et des personnages tels que la Goulue et la féminine de clown Cha-U-Kao.
"Jane Avril" était le nom de scène de Jeanne Beaudon, adoptée après une suggestion faite par son amant britannique.
Elle venait d'une famille demi-mondaine, qui la battait et la fit quitter la maison pour aller à un hôpital psychiatrique. Elle était encore très jeune, et un aristocrate.
Elle a commencé à danser au Moulin Rouge, a poursuivi sa carrière à Les Decadents, ensuite a continuer au Divan Japonais, avant de faire un triomphe à Les Folies Bergères. Même si elle donnait l’impression d’une personne fragile au cours de sa vie quotidienne, principalement à cause de son enfance instable, sur scène, elle s'avérait pleine d'énergie et une vrai danseuse acrobatique. On l’appelait «l’incarnation de la danse».
Jane a été au centre de plusieurs œuvres de Toulouse-Lautrec, et d'affiches pour Le Divan Japonais ou Le Jardin de Paris, en 1893, ce qui fait le nom de l'artiste et le modèle même.
«Dans le milieu de la foule, » dit Paul Leclercq, «il y avait une agitation et une ligne formée: Jane Avril était la danse, le tournage, gracieuse et légère, un peu excentrique, pâle et mince, un pur-sang"
Avril a effectivement dit que les affiches de Lautrec ont été une des raisons pour ca célébrité.
Lorsque évoqué sur scène, elle semble plutôt triste, presque comme un grand oiseau étrange qui saute
comme si elle était vraiment là pour notre plaisir et pas pour le sien, mais Avril a été tellement plus qu’une danseuse, elle était l'ami très proche de Lautrec.
On peut dire qu'elle n'était pas exactement une beauté conventionnelle. Peut-être qu'elle n'était pas ce que nous envisageons comme l'idée de beauté actuels. Cependant, nous devrions aussi nous rappeler que Lautrec a été vu par de nombreuses critiques comme quelqu’un étant assez cruel avec ses mannequins car elles pensaient qu'il les montrait souvent d’une façon peu flatteur, et certaines personnes pensaient qu'il les rendait laides, parce qu'il avait une vie affreuse. Néanmoins, cela est beaucoup plus complexe que ca apparait.
Derrière les mouvements excentriques d’Avril, on a aussi l’impression qu’elle porte un masque, comme si elle avait une autre personnalité. Cela fait partie de son passée et de ce qu’elle a du endurer quand elle était jeune. Les personnes savaient ce qui c’était passer dans son passée et alors ils pouvaient s’associes a son malheurs.
