Some of you asked me how i did the tights of my previous post, so here is a brief explanation of what i did!

This is my very first DIY on the blog and it wasnt even planned so i apologise in advance if its a bit messy or confusing :)
I did these tights for a test shooting for my portfolio at school (hopefully will show you pictures soon) lets just say they're really "homemade" aka wont probably last long, but they're shiny and fun, and to be honest none of my pair of tights really last any longer haha)

all you need to do is:
1. buy the simplest pair of tights (or the craziest?), skin color in this case
2. use an old sheet of paper to work on, yes the glue gets sticky (the spray glue i used is a photo mount from 3M- i told you this was random)
3. lay the tights on the sheet of paper and spray on each leg (approx. knees area)
4. "quickly" pour the glitter on the area you sprayed before
5. leave it to dry for just few seconds then put on the tights on your arm just to separate the two sides with your hand (this way you will be able to actually wear the tights at some point eheh)
6. spray some more glue and repeat #5.
(eventually add more glitters if you lost too many by doing #5)
7. i left them to dry for a night, since i had the shooting the next day but you could probably do just 1 or 2 hours (or minutes).
8. feel like a little fairy in your brand new shiny tights

A. Good idea to you hopfully won't loose as much glitter is to put newspaper loosly rolled up inside the tights

I actually only used them twice and yesss they do kinda loose a lot of glitter ! Lets just say people will know you're around ;) haha but they were mainly done just for a photoshoot so not really meant to last long/ it was a random idea i had :))) xx

@Steph @Alex as i said before they were really just made random for a shooting editorial I had the next day, so I had the model wearing them, and then I made a pair for myself too :) I did say tho that the glitter comes off a lot, but one way to make it stay longer is to let the glue attachh for longer time and also spray it again after pouring the glitters!

maybe before spraying directly the glue on the dress try on a piece of cloth? just in case it doesnt work and you dont ruin the dress :D

Can I spray hairspray on the tights after I apply the glue to make it stay? I know hairspray will make glitter stick to phone covers and such.
so when you wore them did glitter get everywhere? i love how it looks im just worried i will leave a trail of glitter everywhere i go.
Did you glitter both sides? Did the glitter get everywhere while you wore them? I feel like if there is glitter on the back it will get on whatever you sit on. totally want to try this for Christmas that's why but don't want to make a mess at people's houses.
Is it safe to put it in the washer after its dry?

as i mentioned in the post, and in previous comments
i did these tights for a special project i was doing for my portfolio so i mainly used them for a shooting where the model only had to wear them for 20 mins!
i then thought to do the post and since soo many people asked i also showed how i did them! :)
but to be honest wasnt expecting soo many people trying them! which makes me happy but unfortunately not ready to give my word on how well the glitter sticks to the tights,
yes when i made them i had glitter all over the house, but i didnt really wait for it to stick well to them either.
so my suggestion is.
do the spray glue more than twice *or as some people suggest use hairspray too*
and make sure you shake them well to make the glitter fall off
as other people suggest try to wash them and see what comes out after?
in that case the glitter that was stuck on the tights shouldnt fall off anymore!

No, no, no. This was a glittery mess. I love the look, but it just didn't work for me. Oh well.
Couldn't you just spray them with glitter spray? Or even glitter hairspray in a few layers would work...ombré glitter...possibilities-endless...mind-BLOWN!

wow love the simple fact that you share this information how to do glitter tight. to be honest instead of me paying $90.. it save me alot of money .. i can give this gift to my brides made and hopefully they would like it....
